Rabbi's Message

New Rituals at Ohav

As you may have noticed and heard, we have introduced a number of new ritual practices into Shabbat morning services. First, as I mentioned on Rosh Hashanah, we introduced the Triennial Torah Reading cycle where we read only one-third of the Torah portion each Shabbat. This shorter Torah reading will afford more people to master and read shorter aliyot for Torah reading and will allow time for more active participation by our congregants to present a variety of creative literary, musical and theatrical interpretations of the weekly Torah reading.
