ANNUAL SISTERHOOD SHABBAT
February 6, 2010, the women of Sisterhood and their daughters will lead Shabbat services. Be a part of this meaningful and inspiring service as the sanctuary is filled with Kol Ishah, a woman's voice.
SOCIAL ACTION
Collecting empty pill bottles to send to Africa. We take things like plastic prescription pill bottles for granted, tossing them into the garbage when empty. In the equatorial countries of Africa this same disposable pill bottle is a precious commodity. It is the only effective means of keeping lifesaving medications from quickly losing their potency in tropical heat. Drop your containers off in the basket in the office lobby. For more info, call Phyllis Gevelber, chairperson.
A PURIM MITZVAH
Looking for helpers: We will be making gift baskets for people to give to others in the Purim tradition of Mishloach Manot. If you would like to bake, wrap packages, or deliver them, contact Donna Schwarz through the Ohav office at 513-489-3399 or office@ohavshalom.org..
Millie Kichler, a long time member of our Sisterhood has moved to Pennsylvania. Millie was very active in many projects from the Attic Sale to cooking to seating for events. We will miss her wonderful energy. She can be contacted through the Ohav office at 513-489-3399 or office@ohavshalom.org..
Thanks to Stephany Schechtman for spearheading our canned foods drive. The cans brought in for the Annual Meeting have been delivered to the Kosher Foods Pantry and the Free Store.
