 es members of the congregation and the greater Capital District Jewish com
 munity to another event in its Shabbat speaker series\, highlighting issue
 s surrounding the Jewish LGBTQ community. The event will take place on Mar
 ch 9\, 2019 and begin at 9 AM.\n\nGuest speaker Seth Madnick Marnin will a
 ddress congregants with Sacred Jewish Space:&nbsp\;Greater than the Sum of
  Its Parts. Marnin is a civil rights attorney and chair of the board of\nK
 eshet\, a national organization that works for the full inclusion of all L
 GBTQ Jews and their&nbsp\;families in Jewish life. He is a native of Alban
 y.&nbsp\;“We are so pleased that Seth is coming back to the area\, and f
 eel privileged to have him speak&nbsp\;with our congregation\,” says Rab
 bi Dan Ornstein. “We strive to make Ohav Shalom a&nbsp\;welcoming and co
 mfortable space for all of our members. Issues such as this are important 
 not&nbsp\;only to our own LGBTQ members\, but to our entire local Jewish c
 ommunity.”&nbsp\;Marnin is founder and principal of Workplace Strategies
 \, where he advises and guides nonprofit&nbsp\;organizations and individua
 ls on a range of legal issues. Prior to his consulting&nbsp\;practice\, he
  served as the vice president for civil rights at the Anti-Defamation Leag
 ue (ADL)\nwhere he oversaw ADL’s domestic civil rights agenda. He has sp
 oken nationally and&nbsp\;internationally on LGBTQ issues\, hate crime law
 s\, discrimination\, civil rights and religious\nfreedom. Marnin has also 
 served on the planning committee for the National LGBT Bar&nbsp\;Associati
 on’s Transgender Roundtable and the World Professional Organization for 
 Transgender\nHealth (WPATH) Legal Committee. Marnin resides in New York Ci
 ty with his wife and their&nbsp\;blended family.\n\nShabbat services and t
