Ohav Shalom Shines the Light on Tzedakah, giving back to our community. 

Please bring donations of hats, gloves and mittens with you to the Ohav Shalom booth at Chanukah on Jay to donate to our Afghan neighbors in need. All donations collected will be delivered to our friends at U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants – USCRI

For anyone not planning to or unable to attend Chanukah on Jay, Ohav Shalom will have boxes in the lobby to collect hats, gloves and mittens along with non-perishable food items for the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY for all 8 days of Chanukah from Sunday, Dec. 18 through Sunday, Dec. 25.

Join Ohav Shalom, Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, Capital Chabad, and more than 20 local Jewish partners for the 2nd annual community-wide candle lighting and holiday festival–Chanukah on Jay! Come out and celebrate as we collectively ignite the first night of Chanukah with a grand menorah lighting, dance to Jewish music, taste delicious holiday-themed foods, enjoy crafts and games, and so much more! There’s something for everyone to enjoy! Chanukah on Jay is Sunday, December 18, from 2:30–4 PM, on Jay Street in Schenectady, right in front of city hall. The event is open to the public and FREE!
