Men’s Club

The Ohav Men’s Club is becoming an even stronger link in the chain of Ohav Synagogue life. When our revitalization is complete, Ohav’s Men’s Club will be more active in both religious and social functions. There is already a spirit of friendship that is pervasive throughout the group, and new members are always warmly welcomed.

The primary purpose of the Ohav Shalom Men’s Club is to provide social, educational, cultural and spiritual services for members as well as for the broader Ohav Shalom community. While we provide opportunities for congregants to gather together for fellowship, recreation, personal growth and mutual support, we also work to support the mission, services and activities of Congregation Ohav Shalom.

We are pleased to announce that the Annual Nate Erlbaum Blood Drive will be combined with a Sunday Schmooze featuring the Red Cross.

WHEN: Sunday, October 27, 2019 7:30 am – 12:30 pm in 15 minute intervals

ELIGIBILITY: Regular blood donors who have not donated after July 20.

The Men’s Club is planning other events so that there will be year-round programming starting with a Men’s Club Breakfast and a Men’s Club Shabbat. Other events in the coming year will include a wine tasting and at least one family event.

Following the completion of our revitalization, the Men’s Club functions will include:

  • Supporting Building Security
  • Caring for the Playground
  • Administering the Nate Erlbaum Annual Blood Drive
  • Leading the Sukkah Raising
  • Distributing Yom HaShoah Candles
  • Ushering on the High Holidays
  • Supporting important financial programs for the Synagogue
  • Providing joint programming with Sisterhood
  • Sponsoring the Men’s Club Shabbat
  • Participating in the World Wide Wrap

We hope you’ll join us as we schep nachas from doing good.
