Layla’s Bat Mitzvah Project

LAYLA’S MITZVAH PROJECT

            What is a Mitzvah project?

In keeping with the spirit of a Bat Mitzvah, Layla is working on a Mitzvah Project.

A Mitzvah Project is a way to make a Bat Mitzvah more meaningful by giving back to the community. Layla’s Bat Mitzvah is one week before Pesach, the Shabbat before Pesach is known as Shabbat HaGadol (The Great Shabbat). Layla’s Mitzvah Project relates to Shabbat HaGadol and the holiday of Passover.  Just as the Jews were refugees from Egypt, Layla has chosen to help local refugees in Albany.

Layla is collecting arts and crafts supplies for refugee children in Albany.

Please bring some arts and crafts supplies to the celebration at night.

The donated items will be delivered to RISSE after Passover.

RISSE is a local refugee organization that has an after-school program for refugee children in Albany. If you prefer to make a monetary donation you can do so at RISSE’s.
