The Sun Rises and So Do We: Environmental Care in the Jewish Tradition
Virtual class with Rabbinic Intern Risa Dunbar ~ Tuesdays June 6 and June 13 at 7PM
What are some of the origins of environmental care in Jewish life? Who will care for our world if not us, and how are we supposed to do that?
In this class with rabbinic intern, Risa Dunbar, we will explore Jewish models and Jewish sacred texts together to consider what they say about care of the natural world. We will engage in close reading and discussion about the integration and interwoven relationship between Torah and nature, spending time with texts from Tanakh, Talmud, and learning about practices that are based in Jewish wisdom. Through these encounters we will consider how Judaism might conceive of sustainable transformation, and how to ethically care for our climate. ZOOM Registration required
Please join Risa online for this class on Tuesday June 6 and Tuesday, June 13 at 7 PM.
