Reading of the Names – Yom Hashoah 5779 – Sunday, April 28th 6AM -6PM
Each year, as part of our observance of Yom HaShoah, we at Ohav Shalom read aloud the names of French children who perished in the Holocaust. The Reading of the Names will begin at 6:00 AM on Sunday, April 28, and our vigil will continue throughout the day in 20-minute shifts until 6:00 PM in the main sanctuary.
Everyone in the Ohav Shalom family is invited to come and read so that, if only for a moment, some of those who perished are in our thoughts as individuals. We speak and hear their names, and we recall them as full human beings, not as nameless “victims.”
We invite you to join us, click here to sign up. If you have questions or would prefer to have someone else do the sign-up for you, please call Cecelia in the synagogue office at 489-4706 x. 10 or email her at assistant@ohavshalom.org.
