Ohav Shalom Hosts Saturday Evening Sip’n’Sing

Posted on March 19, 2019

Congregation Ohav Shalom welcomes members of its congregation and the greater Capital District community to a coffeehouse-style evening of entertainment and food on Saturday, March 30, 2019. The event will begin at 8:15 PM at Ohav Shalom, 113 New Krumkill Road in Albany. Local band Innocent Bystanders — featuring father-son duo Alan and Dan Goldberg — will
perform while guests enjoy light coffeehouse fare. Alan has been writing and performing original songs and instrumentals for more than three decades. Before settling in Albany in
1994, he was a familiar face on the music scenes in Greenwich Village, Providence, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. He and his band have appeared at several local establishments,
including McGeary’s, Center Square Pub, Mother Earth’s Café and Emack & Bolio’s. A CD of original songs, Waiting, was released in 2005.

“The Goldbergs are longtime members of our congregation,” says Judith Avner, president of Ohav Shalom. “We are so lucky to have such talent right in our own backyard. This promises to
be a wonderful evening, relaxing with friends and listening to great music. I hope this becomes an annual event for the entire community to enjoy.” This event is open to the public. The cost is $15 for Ohav Shalom members, $20 for nonmembers, and $10 for children. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, wine and an assortment of desserts are included. Registration is required, with a deadline of March 25, 2019. To register, please visit www.ohavshalom.org/events/sip-n-sing-with-alan-goldberg-and-son/ OR call 518.489.4706
