Ohav Shalom Invites the Community to October 26 Sip ‘n’ Sing
Albany, NY, OCTOBER 7, 2019 – Congregation Ohav Shalom invites you to “sip and sing” along with us at our first coffeehouse-style event on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 8 to 10 p.m. at Ohav Shalom, located at 113 New Krumkill Road in Albany.
Our Sip ‘n’ Sing features local musician Alan Goldberg, who will perform, guests will enjoy light fare and the ability to sing along when they wish to. Goldberg, who has been featured at local establishments including McGeary’s, Center Square Pub, Mother Earth’s Café and Emack & Bolio’s, has been writing and performing original songs and instrumentals for more than three decades. Before settling in Albany in 1994, he was a familiar face on the music scenes in Greenwich Village, Providence, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
“This promises to be a wonderful evening, relaxing with friends and listening to great music,” said Judith Avner, president of Ohav Shalom. “We are certainly fortunate to have such talent within our own membership! We hope many people will come enjoy the ruach with us.”
Sponsored by the synagogue’s Sisterhood and chaired by Debbie Rausch, this is new event was originally scheduled for last March but had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Ohav’s Sip ‘n’ Sing is open to the public. The cost is $15 for Ohav Shalom members, $20 for non-members, and $10 for children. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, wine and an assortment of desserts are included.
