President Libby Post will be recognized for her dedication and commitment to Congregation Ohav Shalom at a Kiddush lunch in her honor following Shabbat services on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Libby will complete her term as Ohav’s president in mid May.
During her four-year tenure as President, Libby led the way in making governance changes that strengthened the board and streamlined decision making; revamping the Ohav Shalom cemetery procedures; and creating a stronger culture of giving. Together with Rabbis Ornstein and Kieval, she helped to build a robust religious life at Congregation Ohav Shalom and was a driving force in making Ohav Shalom a stronger presence in the Capital District’s Jewish and non-Jewish communities.
“I am proud of the progress we have made as a synagogue community these past four years,” said Libby. “Our board and rabbis have been tremendous and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people with which to serve.”
Libby will continue to work on fundraising as well as her responsibilities as Immediate Past President.
Congregation Ohav Shalom, led by Rabbi Daniel Ornstein and Rabbi Rena Kieval, is a Conservative/Egalitarian Synagogue affiliated with The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
